Fusion!

Wishing each and every one of my dear readers A Happy Diwali filled with sparkling lights of joy and happiness. How did you spend your Diwali this year? Do you guys have any family traditions that you do every year for Diwali?

Living in Singapore for such a long and I often get this intriguing question from friends and colleagues at work, "Do you celebrate Diwali?" I am not sure how to answer this question because in Singapore Diwali is not as big as it is back in India. When I was going to school in India  my family would celebrate with our neighbours  with fire crackers and sparklers for one whole week. Even though we never cooked a feast or exchanged sweets around the neighbourhood. I always had the feeling that In India we often celebrated all festivals together despite our religious backgrounds and irregardless whether we came from north, south, east or west. Diwali was celebrated by each one of us and brought us together with our neighbours and friends from all backgrounds sharing sweets, lighting fire crackers or just sharing a laugh together. Diwali is the festival of lights and it always brought everyone together to celebrate as one.

Now in Singapore all I look forward to are invites from our friends for a dinner, desserts and an excuse for dressing up in fusion attire like what I am wearing in this post. I love to keep my wardrobe functional so I opted for an outfit that is traditional but with a bit of a modern twist.
