Whimsical Pleasures

Whimsical Pleasures

Typically with the start of a new year, we all generally start it with a list of hopes and aspirations we so often call - Resolutions. 2017 would be no different for the best of us. Over the years, I have come to the realisation that resolutions are not for me. I stopped with the New Years resolution and instead choose a word for the year to inspire, aspire and live by. This year I will be choosing the word "JOY". Last year was unimaginably tough, rough and challenging. Through it all, what I ceased to do was to find JOY in every little thing. This year I endevour to focus on being JOYOUS over all that God puts before us and to understand that to be truly JOYOUS it isn't attained from the materialistic things of this world.

Moving forward, my first outfit post is inspired by the magic of having an Indian heritage and living in cosmopolitan Singapore whereby I get to mix up my wardrobe with ethnic and western pieces. I wanted to create a look that showcases my love for the lengha. A lengha is a long flowy skirt which is embroidered and pleated. It is usually accompanied by a short sequinned blouse. Here I'm showcasing a style of using the lengha that can be worn without the bling but yet not losing the glitz and traditional effect of it. Personalising my outfits to add that mystical feel is what I love doing.
